Testing new toy

Good day, everyone.

As some of you may know, I recently purchased a Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens from a friend. This was the top of the line 70-200mm lens from Canon, until the Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Mark II was announced a couple of months ago.

So what's a guy to do with a new toy? Well, I need to test it out, and it so happens I managed to get the lens in time for a surprise buttse errm, birthday party for Julian, which was held in Just Wargame. Shoot shoot shoot I did, and also some Lauya poison was successfully spread among a few people (you know who you are heh heh).

There were some Warhammer 40,000 fanatics painting their miniatures today, so I shot them while waiting for the surprise party to commence.

The contrast in the next picture was compromised by the flare caused by the light entering from the store front:

I just wanted to capture the T-shirt:

I think Sakuya (the heavily poisoned Arnab) shot the next few:

Except for this one. The heavily poisoned Arnab returned the camera, so I snapped this before she asked for the poison again.

Now back to liang moi hunting taim...

The birthday boy himself: Sotong

I think this next photo was shot by John (looking for liang moi ah...)

Wait, these two are not liang mois...

OK lah, I was also looking for liang zhais

This next photo was the only photo I brightened, all the rest were resized and/or cropped from the JPGs straight out of my ancient dinosaur of a Canon 400D.

It was a good exercise in getting to know the lens, but I still need moar practice.

Well, every time you shot something and view back the photo, you seem to go high, so I was afraid you might wet yourself after a while...
