Food tasting
I was invited to a food tasting at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort (specifically the Shang Palace restaurant) for my friend's wedding this coming July.
Full course for one table commenced at 7:30 p.m. and here's the suggested menu:
Cantonese Specialty, Hot and Cold Combo:
Braised Fish Maw Seafood Soup with Crab Meat, Stuffed Prawn Balls & Shark's Fin:
Fried Chicken with Salad Dressing:
Steamed Garoupa "Hong Kong" Style:
Yes, we used the chopstick as a yardstick, to make sure during the wedding, the fish served would be around this size, heh heh...
Szechuan Style Braised Sea Cucumber & Prawns:
Chinese Style Wok-Fried Lamb with BBQ sauce:
Stewed Fresh Mushroom & Chi Bao Gu with Tau Kan Pak Choi:
Fried rice in Butter and Garlic:
Sweet Lotus Seed with Pak Hup & Dried Longan:
and lastly, Chinese Pancake:
There were some tweaks and comments made about the selection and taste, so hopefully the menu during the wedding day itself will be to everyone's taste.
Man, my eyelids are about to drop...
