Sick

Aww, this is the first time I got really sick since... last year I believe. Had a bad bout of indigestion that totally knocked me out for most of yesterday afternoon and night. I think the food that went into my system was not absorbed, therefore my body was lacking in energy.

Symptoms include nausea, mild muscle aches here and there, sleepiness, no appetite and lack of concentration. Luckily I was able to drive home after work without any mishap.

Anyway, I went to see the doctor after dinner and guess what? He happened to be from the same university I was from! Almost the same batch, plus or minus a few years, but we still recognise each other. After a quick examination, he prescribed a few medication and I was on the way. Too bad no discount :(

Lowepro camera bag

Here's another addition to the growing number of stuff related to photography: A Lowepro Mini Trekker AW (All Weather) bought for RM390 from Centre Point. There are some shops selling this too but this was the cheapest I could find.

Very nice build, quite comfortable and it has tonnes of pockets!!! Another nice thing is that it has a rain cover, in case it starts pouring while you're on a hike outdoors. It is weather resistant, so all my cameras and gear should be nice and dry while inside. Planning to use this next year when climbing Mount Kinabalu.

My speakers!

Argh, I finally dragged my butt off my bed and sent my speakers to the shop to be checked out.

Yup, my Creative Inspire 6.1 speakers decided to give up the ghost and died an agonising death last Sunday. I wrote to Creative to enquire about what might be wrong, so they suggested to bring the speakers to the shop where I bought it and have them take a look. So I finally did today, brought it to Picotec in Karamunsing before they closed at 3pm. So the shop assistant took down my speakers' serial number and said they'll send it to the supplier who will in turn send it to the manufacturer for testing. Oh well, as long as they take a look at it, it should be OK. Now I'll have to wait for them to diagnose the problem.

It started last Sunday. I heard some strange noise running from the left speaker to the right speaker and after that no sound. At the time, I didn't really look into it, since I was busy with something else, but when I tried to play a movie file, the sound that came from the speakers sounded "funny". So I tried to increase the volume but the sound that came out of the speakers actually became softer. After that it all went downhill. testing and probing and diagnosing on my part did not kick it back to life. Then I noticed the light on the remote control LED was very soft, almost not lighting up at all. Anyway, I've told all of this to the Picotec guy and he wrote it in the service log.

I wonder how much would it cost to fix it...

La Salle & Sacred Heart Annual Dinner

This is a really long overdue update heh heh...

I just attended the annual La Salle and Sacred Heart dinner at Putera restaurant in Bukit Padang just now. The place was loud, the music was louder, and you can hardly hear yourself think. I think you get the picture.

Here's a pic of the toast to the Agong, TYT and also to the school:

After getting lost trying to find an old teacher, I got fed up and called her to locate her exact table. Here's Roslyn, still looking good after so many years:

Arr... she's still trying to get me to join the ex-students association...

All in all, the food wasn't too bad, but we didn't stay for the last course. In fact, I missed about 3 of the last courses because I was busy talking :P. I did bump into some seniors too...

As for my class, I think I'm the only attendee.

Look before you eat

For those of you who wolf down your food, look carefully before shovelling food down your throat, for strange things may lurk in your food.

Yup, we found the following "friends" in some Jackfruit (nangka). The fruit was stung by insects, so we did know about some parts of the fruit has infiltrators, but we thought we got rid of all of them. Guess we were wrong :D

These felows were less than 1 cm long, and they tend to jump around as their mode of locomotion. We had a hard time keeping them on the table while I was taking their photos.

I'll let the pictures do the talking:

This one is about to spring:

There's more than one...
